FOGBANK

FOGBANK is an identity I’ve cultivated to act as the transmitter for various new work and projects, including this one. It comes courtesy of the US government, and is the code name for a classified material that is used in the production of nuclear weapons that the nuclear scientists forgot how to produce lol. In the mid-2000's they had to relearn how to make it from scratch, which apparently was super complicated and expensive. But they learned some new stuff along the way, so huzzah.

The name also encapsulates a vibe that is both playful and dangerous: it sounds alliteratively awkward and goofy, but if you’re traveling in a boat and the banks are covered in fog, not being able to see the shore is NOT GREAT™, but more to the point feels analogous to where I believe humanity is right now.

Lastly, there’s a layer that “bank” could mean a repository for fog. Like it’s saving that fog for a rainy day to do lord knows what with. I’m not sure what work will be created with this cloak, but I imagine my drawings will stay as Man Bartlett works. More on all this another day.
